Making Progress again

I’ve been struggling a little recently, but this week has been much better than the last few, and I’m finishing it off feeling like next week is going to be even better.

I’ve managed to pull myself back into my morning routine and some of my night routine (I’m not managing the night routine every day, but some is better than none).

I’ve done my meal-prep for the beginning of next week, with a plan for the meals that aren’t prepped.

I’ve had a pretty productive weekend getting on top of some cleaning and organising.

On Saturday, I ran my fastest 5k yet, and I felt really good doing it, so I think I can get even better.

A lot of the time for me, half the battle is just getting myself in the correct mindset where I push myself beyond where I am comfortable.

It’s frustrating that progress isn’t a straight line, but at least I now feel like I’m heading in the right direction again.

It can be very easy for me to get stuck in my own head and in a bit of a spiral of feeling down and like I’m failing.

Some days it takes conscious effort to feel like I am capable of anything.

Because I was struggling to get back on top of my habits, I looked back at some of my first blogs, and the posts about why I had chosen to build particular habits.

It was helpful, having these things written down.

I could read them through and it reminded me, from my own point of view, what I was meant to be doing and why.

This blog was always meant to help in my journey.

It acts as a form of accountability, but also as an instigator for research and reflection, and a record of my own ideas, goals and journey.

I’m not good at necessarily writing down feelings, and maybe I’ll get better at that, but research and thought processes will do for now.

As I move on to trying to write my blogs ahead of time and be a bit more organised with it, I also plan on being a bit more structured and researched with the content.

We’ll see how that goes, as this will take more time, and I would still want to be able to do updates on my progress and spontaneous blogs when something happens in my life that I want to share or just document.

But it’s a well documented fact that you learn more from presenting and teaching a subject.

So being able to review a subject a couple of times and use direct sources and quotes, should help me with my learning process.

It’ll be interesting to see how I manage with this extra work for this blog.

If anyone has a specific topic or area that they would like me to address, then please send me a message and I’ll look into it.

But until next week, I hope that you all have a happy and productive week.
